Daniel Cerny, a native of the Czech Republic, grew up in the Czech Hockey League. He started playing hockey when he was about four years old. In the 2017/2018 season, he played in the European University Hockey League (EUHL).  At 18, he was deciding between professional hockey and coaching. The coaching path was more interesting for him because he knew that teaching others was his passion, and at his age he embarked on a coaching career. He has the second highest coaching license in the Czech Republic and in a few years he would like to graduate with the A license, the highest in the Czech Republic. He has led and still leads one of the biggest hockey camps in the Czech Republic called Czech Hockey Camp and is part of the team of the project School of Hockey Talents, the patrons of the project are Jaromír Jágr and Tomáš Plekanec.
